The IWF and Testing Registries
06/09/2014

When the IWF sponsors cardiac or eye testing, we are primarily doing that to obtain data for research purposes.  Some owners want test results registered with OFA, CHIC, or another health testing registry.  In that case, the examining doctors complete their section of the registration form at the owner's request.  In order to register the results the owner then needs to send the completed form to the registry (e.g., OFA) along with the registration fee.  The IWF provides links to registration forms to facilitate owners having the forms ready at testing time, but we don't collect registration fees or send completed forms to registries.  Health testing registration is the choice and responsibility of the dog's owner.
