Due to a sudden illness our cardiologist will not be available for IWADV, so the IWF will be unable to offer echocardiograms. Those signed up for echoes will be given the choice of refunding their donation or rescheduling for the 2027 clinics at PVIWC or the IWCA, since the latter will be in Pennsylvania. EKGs will still be offered without auscultation (listening to the heart with a stethoscope) since those can be performed at the show and sent to a cardiologist for review. Diagnostics on EKGs may take a few days if they are complex. We appreciate your understanding in this emergency. The IWF screening clinics value the expertise of the cardiologists we use. These cardiologists have a special love for our breed and have trained in techniques that minimize stress on the dogs while maintaining consistency in techniques so that the data is valuable for research. Individuals who have signed their dogs up for echocardiograms will be contacted individually.
