IW Foundation Health Library:
Lymphoma

Lymphoma, also known as lymphosarcoma, is a cancer of the lymphatic system. In most cases the first obvious symptom is swollen lymph nodes, though those can also be caused by a simple infection. Other symptoms tend to be more vague, like a lack of appetite and fatigue. Diagnosis is made by examining cells aspirated from a lymph node. Prognosis varies depending on the type and extent of the disease, but some variants are very responsive to chemotherapy.
