Blood Panel

Is there a baseline blood panel for IWs?  I know that their normals are sometimes different then the average dogs.

Oops - sorry I missed this.  Irish wolfhounds typically have a lower white cell count than most other breeds and have a lower thyroid as seen in many sighthound breeds.  If your veterinarian thinks your hound has hypothyroidism make sure he or she is checking a full thyroid panel (usually sent to Michigan) and not just the baseline T4.  Other than that the rest of their blood values typically fall within range of most other dog breeds.  The smartest thing to do is have annual bloodwork done (or more frequently if your hound has any health problems) so you can detect any changes in your dog's health status.
